1st day at church

We made it to church today where Duke ate, cried, and slept through the whole service! I know the pastor talked about serving your community but I didn't catch much more. :-)

Baby's 1st Mohawk

Couldn't resist giving Duke his first mohawk with all that hair!!

Jeff's 35th Birthday (or 8.75)

Jeff turned 35 this weekend (Leap Year Baby) and we celebrated by having dinner at Mom & Dad Van de Mark's house and then watching UFC up at Terry's house. Terry threw an awesome party for Jeff with official 8.75 birthday balloons!

Welcome Duke Jaxon

Well, someone suggested I start blogging again. I know, it's been 1.5 yrs?? WoW! I feel like I just got married and started this blog!

Well.....So much has happened since then.

We just welcomed the newest addition to our family on 2/14/2011. Little Duke Jaxon was born at 11:30 PM after a short 5.5 hr labor at Evergreen Hospital. Mommy was able to do it without an epidural and we are very happy about that. I do have the red eyes STILL as evidence of the hard work it took to get the little guy out.

He weighed 8 lbs 5 oz at birth and measured 21.5 inches long.

He's just beautiful as you can see!

He's now 9 days old and I can't believe how fast the time has gone already! (I know, I know, thats doesnt seem like that much time, but as each day passes I get sad he's growing up too fast!)

We feel so blessed to have him here with us and healthy.

He had his first pediatrician appointment yesterday and passed with almost all flying colors. The only concern at this point is a persistent mild heart murmur that our pediatrician would like us to get checked out.

So, we have an appt with a a cardiologist at Swedish next Tues. Praying this murmur is benign and he can live a completely normal life with it.

Otherwise, he was already up to 8 lbs 11.5 oz and doing well! 98th percentile for his height, 80th for his weight, 65th for his head circumference. Side note: this kid has huge hands and feet!! Everyone comments on it. Will he with a basketball player?? He should be able to palm a ball by jr. high...

Look at those mitts!!! First bath.

Here he is with his Nana.

And his Papa.
